Treatment Philosophy

Erika utilizes a psychodynamic, somatic, and relational approach in her work with individuals, couples, and families. She draws on principles from holistic, body-based modalities including Somatic Psychology, Internal Family Systems, Buddhist Psychology, Authentic Movement, yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. Erika continues to participate in her own personal growth and healing and considers her studies a life-long process and integrates all of these experiences into her work.

Erika is skilled at addressing issues such as relationship issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, fertility/pregnancy, body image issues, and family conflict. Erika is fascinated by the mind-body connection, and she believes that acceptance, choice, flexibility, and compassion are the key agents of change. She welcomes a wide range of life experiences and orientations. Using both talk and somatic (body-oriented) therapy, she helps people connect with their hearts and feel more confident and easeful in their lives, relationships, and careers.
